Based on who controls the schedule, the name should be Dan's Cars and Light Trucks. Had an RV slide that needed major work, i.e., would have to be removed. I figured 2 and a half weeks since I had discussed the job with others. I was not far off, it took 40 hours spread over 5 weeks and a day: 25 Jan thru 29 Feb. Took it in on Monday, 25 Jan 2016. Wednesday, 27 Jan, it was determined that the needed equipment was broken. We were offered the opportunity to take our MH and live in it. We were already committed to the motel and assumed they would still work on it while fixing their equipment. Wrong. They are unable to plan their work. Could have done the small job on the other slide, but didn't. Friday of week 2, 5 Feb 2016, their equipment was fixed. Still no work on my unit, we went into it to get something. Could have had the inside undone so the slide could be removed sooner. Week 3, told that they made two trips to lumber yard to get props and a platform for the slide. David called 10 Feb and gave me a price; I agreed to the quote. They had to order parts and install them. Week 4: Visited twice. Office acted tense, as if they were in trouble with me. Friday of Week 5, 25 Feb, at 4:36 pm they called and said second slide was finished, but the caulking had to dry. They close at 5:30 pm, no way I could clear the motel, move stuff back into motor home and check the work. This was the slide they could have worked on the first two weeks. I decided to wait until Monday, the 29th. The slide lurches, twists, and tilts as it goes out. The slide awning is too tight and bangs and rubs as the slide goes out. They weakly said that the awning rod was bent; it is not. When the slide is pulled back in, it is straight as an arrow. I know a place in Kentucky who can check it. Not all was lost, they gave us some rodents (mice) for free! Plus, gave us a .023 discount (two cents on the dollar); I was embarrassed for them. We visited twice a week on different days and different times. NEVER saw them working on the motor home; several times we saw them working on cars and trucks, or in the break room before they shut the door.
Thank you Mr. Griffin for you review. While every business strives to deliver quality products and services its also a fact we as a business can always do better. This being said, not all reviews are created equal and we believe it is important to address legitimate complaints and not address a customer who has a personal ax to grind. We do view criticism when it is is correct as a opportunity to be better and as a way of correcting any issues within our organization. This being the case we are at the mercy of a handful of people who are truly vocal on social media about their dissatisfaction and often they misstate the facts. No matter how committed we are to customer service we make mistakes because we are human. Apparently, we failed to meet your expectations and for this I apologize. Being that you had been to our repair facility previously and that we had also serviced your personal vehicle we assumed (our mistake) that you were happy with your repair and felt like if you had a problem you would have contacted us personally before you felt the need to vent via the internet. First off let me say we offered while we were waiting on materials for your repair to allow you to keep your motor home. Once we started the repairs we had to completely remove your slide-out from the unit, so during this time and until we were able to complete the job your coach was open in our shop. Because of the issue with your slide out we had to reinforce the front lower wall of the slide and plate the lower front of the slide with aluminum sheeting. We had to install a new wiper seal and lower slide seal and we installed a new slide out topper. the front slide switch was intermittently not working and we replace your slide-out switch. Your extended warranty only covered $106.11 of your repairs, we gave you a military discount of $200.00 (thank you for your service) and discounted our labor rate for you. When we started the repairs we were very transparent with you and communicated with you about the projected time and cost of the repairs and you agreed to both. Your awning rod did have a bend/crimp in it, this is a fact and it was this way prior to our starting repairs on your coach. We are the premier repair facility in Kerrville for RV repairs, so while you perceive we were not working on your coach, I assure you we were in some stage of repair from the time your vehicle entered our shop. From getting authorization, to ordering parts, to working on your coach. We always make accommodations to stay open late or come in early to avoid inconveniencing a customer when possible. As far as any of the other issues, I have included a link to a You Tube video for others who read this review to view. It tells you who we are as a company and what we believe, in addition it is a video of our facility, including our floors and shop environment. https://youtu.be/Sf-wH39Jbso We never take a complaint lightly and we always see criticism when it is honest and factual as an opportunity to improve and as a way to correct any issues within our organization. If you would like to contact me personally I may be reached at [email protected] or at 830-895-2888. Again, we thank you for your business and wish you well in your travels.
