Auto Care Association Advocates for Vehicle Maintenance and Repair to be Classified as "Essential Services"
In an effort to prevent or slow the spread of COVID-19, many state, local and municipal governments are mandating the temporary closure of businesses providing “non-essential services”. Essential service providers, on the other hand, may remain open and in operation.
The motor vehicle maintenance, repair and service industry is clearly an “essential service”. Despite the importance of social distancing, the public must still take care of basic human needs such as food, safety and medical care. Operation of vehicle fleets utilized by utility companies, police, fire, EMTs and other critical services must therefore be considered necessary. Repair and maintenance facilities that keep these vehicles in operation are also clearly essential. Further, companies that provide the parts and services necessary to repair and maintain those vehicles are likewise essential or else all repair services will grind to a halt.
Our industry continues to serve a critical role in keeping our communities mobile and responsive in this challenging time.
We are currently open and serving clients during normal business hours. We are closely monitoring global, national, and local authorities regarding COVID-19 to ensure we are taking appropriate and necessary measures to ensure the safety of our customers, vendors and employees.
We have always implemented stringent cleaning and disinfecting procedures, and are working diligently on increased preparedness efforts to maintain a safe work environment. We have increased measures of cleaning and disinfecting high touch areas and limiting person-to-person contact.
Thank you for your continued loyalty, patience, and understanding. We stand with you and will continue to provide quality automotive care as best we can. We are grateful for our Hill Country community, we are family and we will get through this together!
